George Tice, Kevin Pilkington: Arnold Newman Master Lecture Series

The Arnold Newman Master Lecture Series on Monday, August 5 will feature talks from George Tice followed by Kevin Pilkington. George Tice is an American photographer, best known for his meticulously crafted black and white prints in silver gelatin and platinum, as well as his books, which depict a broad range of American life, landscape, and urban environment, mostly photographed in his native New Jersey, where he has lived all his life, except for his service in the U. S. Navy, a brief period in California, a fellowship in the United Kingdom, and summer workshops in Maine, where he taught at the Maine Photographic Workshops, now the Maine Media Workshops.

Kevin Pilkington is a member of the writing faculty at Sarah Lawrence College. He is the author of nine collections: Spare Change was the La Jolla Poets Press National Book Award winner; Getting By won the Ledge chapbook award; In the Eyes of a Dogreceived the New York Book Festival Award; The Unemployed Man Who Became a Tree was a Milt Kessler Poetry Book Award finalist.

The lectures are open to the public and will take place on the upper level of the Rockport Opera House. We hope to see you there!
