It's Back to Basics with the “Three B’s” for DaPonte String Quartet and Guest Artist Katherine Murdock
In a radical reversal from their electrified winter series, the DaPonte String Quartet greet spring with a return to the most traditional classical music—the “three B’s.” Guest artist Katherine Murdock joins them on viola for “Bees in Your Bonnet” featuring quintets by Beethoven and Brahms, as well as some Bach fugues. It will be performed from Mar. 19-26 in Rockport, Portland, Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor and Brunswick.
has performed as guest artist with many distinguished string quartets including Emerson and Guarneri, as well as with the New York Philharmonic and
Boston Symphony. She and the Quartet will play Beethoven's String Quintet in C Major, Opus 29 and Brahms's String Quintet In G Major. Selections from
Bach's Art of the Fugue complete the concert.

The DaPonte String Quartet is Maine’s premier string ensemble. Founded in 1991 in Philadelphia, it is currently celebrating its 25th year. The Quartet performs over 60 times a year, year round, from Presque Isle to Ogunquit.
